Pegasus 2/28/2016 Mini horse Gelding Rescued March 2016 at only 2 weeks old His mom passed away right after she had him Had to be bottle fed every two hours for months Lived in the house until he was 1 year old! Needed Major abdominal surgery at 11 months old! Now enjoys going to events and teaching people about horse rescue! Pegasus sadly passed away on 1/28/19 due to his severe internal health issues that caused him to pass in his sleep we will miss him dearly ...

Deco 1990 Dutch Warmblood Gelding Rescued in 2010 Height- 17hh Weight- 1300lbs Deco was another from Lake county animal control sent there to be euthanized because he had a torn tendon. He was previously a state champion hunter jumper sold for $30K but then passed around from owner to owner re injuring his leg and then drugging him so they could keep riding him. After researching it was determined stem cell therapy would be the best course of action, so we did this and rehabilitated him for over a year. After he was sound for walk trot riding and trail riding which he enjoyed doing until April 2018 when he was diagnosed with a heart murmer brought on by his old age. Blac 4/27/2003 Thoroughbred Mare Rescued in 2007 Height- 16 hh Blac Sadly passed away in December 2021, she is now reunited with her owner in heaven. She will be dearly missed by all of us at Dreamcatcher and has been buried on property here next to where Nancy’s ashes are spread. Blac was rescued by Nancy in 2007 from a slaughter auction she outbid the kill buyer by $50. Nancy then just kept Blac as a pet and eventually trained her how to ride in 2012, she loves to ride English and does dressage and jumping. Our beloved family friend Nancy owned Blac and Murphy until her unexpected passing the night of Christmas 2016, she spent her last day at the barn enjoying her horses and hanging out with her family. Knowing Nancy wished to keep her horses at DCHR their entire life we made sure to honor her wishes. Blac will stay here at DCHR her entire life, in Blacs stall there is a photo of Nancy and Blac will just stare at it, her ashes are also spread around the farm! Blac now enjoys doing lessons and getting lots of love (and treats) ...

General 1997 Quarter horse Gelding Rescued in June 2014 Height- 15 hh Weight- 1100 lbs Trail Horse/ Sanctuary Horse General was abandoned in a field with another horse, they were given up to Dreamcatcher. General had bad hoof problems that required special shoes and a few months to fix, he is now maintained by regular shoes. Nick was an elderly quarter horse with an eye missing. He was picked up by animal control as he was found wandering the streets in howey in the hills. We of course gave him a new forever home and as we brought him home on Christmas Eve, We decided to call him St Nicholas – Nick for short. Nick passed away in September 2018
